Producer Glenn Suravech (aka Mosaic) brings a distinctive and dynamic sound to music across a broad spectrum of genres. Releasing and licensing music through Mosaic Sound Recordings (MSR), his work has spanned everything from electronica-based pop - with bold strokes of the ambient - to acoustic folk/rock, hip hop, experimental, and contemporary world music. 2010 will see an expansion of his catalog and a further evolution of his style as he works with a new lineup of notable artists from a mix of musical backgrounds.

Mosaic's unique approach to music springs from the diversity of his experiences and influences in the industry. He fine-tuned his skill as an audio engineer at Jackson Browne's Groove Masters Studio in Santa Monica, and through UCLA Extensions' Recording Engineering certification program, studied under the tutelage of such engineers as Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2) and Ted Greenberg (Cypruss Hill, The Roots, Ben Harper), among other music juggernauts. Additionally, he has worked with engineer Steve Durkee (Prince, Janet Jackson), Jim Mitchell (Guns N' Roses, Billy Bob Thornton, Warren Zevon), producer Derek Nakamoto (Keiko Matsui) and still regularly sits in as a guitarist with the celebrated Los Angeles-based pop band, Visiting Violette.

Mosaic released his debut album in 2007, entitled Through the Eyes of a Woman, to critical acclaim. The well-received cross-genre work featured 10 original tracks recorded with independent artists/musicians across the nation. The record was an effective showcase of the versatility of Mosaic's beats, motifs and instrumentation. His follow-up work, Liberator, was released in September of 2008 and represented a masterful distillation of his trademark sound. Its 11 infectious tracks were performed by a colorful tapestry of 10 remarkable musicians, and came together as a rock/pop, hip-hop and electronica-based tribute to the notions of pure expression and break-out freedom.

Mosaic continued his ground-breaking work in 2009, mixing and producing an acoustic folk/rock album with up-and-coming singer/songwriter Long Nguyen. The result was the richly mellow, smooth, and undeniably cool Shoebox Letters, which established Nguyen as a musician to watch. Mosaic forged ahead immediately afterward with another triumphant collaboration with an Asian American artist: Bay Area songstress Alice Tong. The album, please be brave before the lions they come, is a demonstration of Mosaic's producing and engineering talent in top form, with special attention given to the warmth and depth of Tong's music and lyrics.

Mosaic gains greater momentum in 2010 with several high-profile projects, including a record he sound engineered for TAIKOPROJECT entitled Surrounding Suns. This first studio album for the popular nationally touring act exhibits their inventive, contemporary take on traditional Japanese taiko drumming, as well as Mosaic's ability to capture and render the rich beats of the enormous taiko drums.

Other summer releases that feature Mosaic as a prominent contributor include Shin Kawasaki's self-titled debut album, with several tracks mixed by Mosaic, and Street Fighter High: The Musical - the "Glee"-inspired sequel to the original "Street Fighter High" viral video. The buzz-worthy second installment includes parodies of popular pop songs - each with a "Street Fighter" spin-recorded and sound engineered by Mosaic at his home studio.

And with still more exciting projects in the pipeline, including the debut album of Korean American musician Sue Jin Kim and a record with singer-songwriter duo Durwood, Mosaic is positioning himself to finish the year strong.

As he sharpens the cutting edge with every track he lays down, Mosaic continues his rise as an innovator in the independent music industry. Stay tuned for more from Mosaic, including his much-anticipated third album - a dance compilation - scheduled to begin production in 2011.
